Volunteer
Our volunteers and fosters are the backbone of our organization. They help hundreds of animals a year through their hard work and dedication. Regardless of your skills or schedule, there are plenty of opportunities throughout the year to help us rescue animals in need. If you would like to join our team, please see the many opportunities below and complete a Volunteer Release Form and email the completed form to [email protected].
Adoption Event Volunteers
We need volunteers to help with meet and greet events held at PETSMART Blakeney most Saturday afternoons or at other local events. Please note that all volunteers must have a Volunteer Release Form on file.
- Oversee local events and answer general questions from the public (must be 21 years old or older).
- Assist with handling our rescued dogs and cats at local events (must be 16 years old or older).
- Assist with set up and clean up for events.
Cat Condo Volunteers
We need volunteers to help care for rescued cats that temporarily stay in the cat condos at PETSMART Blakeney location while waiting for their forever homes. Please note that all volunteer must have a completed Volunteer Release Form on file.
- Socialization; giving our rescued cats lots of love and attention while volunteering.
- Replenishing fresh food and water supplied by Petsmart.
- Cleaning litter boxes.
- Usually regular volunteers work once a week for 1 to 2 hours.
- Cat Condo Volunteers need to be 21 years of age or older to work individually or 16 years old to work with a parent/guardian.
Public Relations/Marketing Volunteers
- Contact corporations about sponsorships.
- Plan and coordinate fundraising and/or special events.
- Help contact local media about events and happenings.
- Preparing grant proposals.
- Solicit individuals and/or companies for donations.
